Early Childhood Credential Program
Dates and Times
The 22-month certification program begins with a two-week summer intensive academic phase. Classes will be held between 8:00am and 5:00pm Monday – Friday. Nine weekend seminars are held during the school year (Fridays and Saturdays, 8:00am and 5:00pm and Sundays, 1:00pm – 5:00pm). In the second summer, there will be a two-week summer intensive, followed by the yearlong Practicum (Student Teaching) phase. There are three weekend seminars held during the following school year (Fridays and Saturdays, 8:00am and 5:00pm and Sundays, 1:00pm – 5:00pm). The two year program culminates in May with yearlong presentations and graduation.
MCMS will not be starting a new cohort of adult learners in the summer of 2020. The next cohort will begin in the summer of 2021. Information will be posted as soon as it is available.
Tuition and Fees

- Practicum sites that are outside of a 50-mile radius from MCMS, the cost of transportation and lodging (if
required) must be assumed by the adult learner.
- Tuition payment options are available.
- Fees do not include required books and supplies estimated to cost approximately $500.
Every year, the American Montessori Society awards teacher education scholarships to aspiring Montessori teachers.
In 2018, AMS awarded a total of $71,200 to 24 aspiring Montessori teachers.
